This is a rare and unique type of stone named after the shining cuckoo, the green and white shimmering plumage are similar to the thin bands of light that cause a chatoyant effect like a cat’s eye as the stone is moved about.
It may not look it from the photos, but this really is a massive, strong and bold piece.
The last photo has been taken in the sun, and it looks even better in person, as it displays chatoyance/ shimmers.
Toki or Adze represents wisdom, strength, courage and power. Traditionally used as a tool carved into a chunky blade and either lashed to a wooden handle or held in the hand.
