This is not NZ Pounamu but carved from Australian Black Coral Jade (South Australia) 

Fitted with an adjustable toggle brown and black cord

Koropepe is a variety of manaia, taking inspiration from a mythical eel or fish. Typically combined with the koru, its a symbol of hope and protection.
